Our Vision

We imagine a National Capital Region that thrives on sustainable, healthy buildings, parks and natural spaces in which the public feels connected to our past and is engaged in creating our future.

Our Mission

The Ottawa Architecture Foundation (OAF) is a public facing organization dedicated to fostering conversations about architecture, design, and the built and natural environments. The OAF aims to stimulate inclusive conversations about architecture, improve design literacy and culture a positive design culture of the Nation Capital Region.

The Ottawa Architecture Foundation
has three primary mandates:

Educate & Promote

To educate and promote awareness of architecture and the built environment and its importance by offering courses, seminars, conferences and meetings and by collecting and disseminating information on architecture and the built environment to the public.

Develop & Provide

To develop and provide educational programs promoting a broad public understanding of architecture, its history, technology and the role the built environment plays in the lives of people.

Conduct Research

The third mandate is to conduct research relating to architecture and to disseminate the results of such research. We believe in information accessibility.

Ottawa Summer Camp [Ages 11-14]

Let us know if you are interested in a summer camp (ages 11-14).  Depending on interest and timing, the OAF will be in touch to explore opportunities to bring this program to Ottawa.

The OAF would welcome and host a summer camp provided by No.9 Imagine My Sustainable Community, hosting a week-long camp for 11-14 year olds in creative multi-media led by experienced artists and architectural designers to learn about climate art, architectural model-making and sustainable communities. Students will be introduced to principles of architecture through demonstrations of scaled model making and multiple art practices that students will use in their final pieces.
